Must Try DIY Masks for Acne

In the previous blog, I did tell you all that I would share a few recipes that have been tried by people around me. And they do work. So, lets pop that zit!

1) Turmeric and Honey
Here, I personal prefer Kasturi Haldi (a variety of turmeric) instead of the generic turmeric.
Mix half a teaspoon Kasturi Haldi to one full teaspoon of honey (basically enough honey to cover your face) and keep it on for 10-20 minutes. I normally keep it on for 20 mins.

2) Basil (Tulsi) and Neem

I take equal proportion of both Basil leaves and Neem leaves (say around 8-10 leaves) and grind it to a paste. To this, add half a spoon of lime juice and apply it on the face. Since bot Neem and Basil have anti-bacterial properties, this is a sure shot remedy to banish those acne.

If you do not have access to fresh leaves, you could also use the powder form (easily available in the market/online) and mix it with honey. This also helps in lightening the scars.

3) Raw Garlic and Tomato
Crush a clove of garlic and mix it with tomato juice. It might sting a bit and for that you can also mix a bit of honey to this mixture. Leave this mask for 10 mins. This mask is also excellent for clearing scars and brightening the complexion.

4) Bentonite Clay
This one is a real blessing. There are 8 different types of clay and for acne, Bentonite clay is something that I prefer. This clay is easily available in the market or you can also buy it from Amazon. It has amazing healing properties and is now gaining a huge popularity in the skincare industry.
I take the required amount of clay and mix it with 3 drops of lavender oil, half a spoon of apple cider vinegar and one spoon of honey and leave it on for 15 mins. Try it and you will notice the difference.

5) Nutmeg and Milk/yogurt
This combination is most suitable for banishing the acne scars. However, it has also worked on acne. Either ways, it is really effective. Grate a nutmeg into fine powder and mix it with 2 spoons of milk and honey. You could also use yogurt. Leave the paste for 10 mins and wash it off with plain water.

A mixture of nutmeg and cinnamon powder with honey is also an amazingly effective mixture for acne. However, it could burn a bit.

So that’s it guys for this post. I hope you will try these and let me know whether it worked for you. Would love to know what you guys feel about this one!
